Earlier this year, we asked everyone in Kent and Medway to give us their views on proposals to move some water safety equipment and to introduce our Rural Plan. The results of this public consultation are now available.
Many people don’t realise that smoke alarms have a lifespan of 10 years. After this time, their sensors become less reliable and need replacing. By checking your smoke alarm’s expiry date, you can help to keep yourself and others safe.

Seasonal safety
With the arrival of colder weather, barbecues are replaced by bonfires, heating goes on and stoves are lit. As you gear up for winter don't forget to check your smoke and carbon monoxide monitors are working. If you use a stove or fire, please remember to get your chimney swept before you light it after the summer.
